Now on to the Bride & Groom and Clambake pics!
You'll notice that this is the last picture with my veil. After this picture was taken, I crouched on the ground and my mom and aunt took it out; the wind just made it hurt too much!
The fort coordinator allowed Mr Corn and I and our photographer up to the roof to take pictures with the view of Newport in the background.
I really love this shot of our reception tent. The guests were happily enjoying cocktail hour while we were taking all of our pictures. I would have loved to have taken the pictures before the wedding, but unfortunately it was not logistically possible. In the end, I really think it turned out well.
It was, uh, a bit of a wind tunnel in the stairwell to the roof of the fort!!

After we were finished with our pictures, everyone gathered around the clambake area for an explanation of the traditional New England Clambake and then the dramatic reveal! Basically, they dig a hole and build a huge bonfire. Then they toss in some rocks and let them get very, very hot. After the rocks are heated, they put cages of lobster, clams, mussels, potatoes and corn on top of the rocks, cover them with rockweek (a type of seaweed that actually helps steam the food), and then cover that with sheets and finally canvas. They let it sit for about two hours and "hope for the best".
After the reveal, everyone went into the reception tent and the clambake people set up the buffet while we had our first dance, the toasts and the prayer. One of the best part of having a wedding?? You not only get to go first in the buffet line, but they actually split your lobster for you :) That and you get your very own cloth lobster bib :)
